The competition will focus heavily on the research and sustainability aspect and will be a great benifit to the Fiji community in the sense that it will provide valuable data on the local waters and the marine life that inhabits them. The data will be used by the Department of Primary Industries and other environmental organisations in the planning of future conservation projects and effective management systems. Partnership with the competition will give all businesses & special guests positive public exposure and goodwill within the fishing community.

The core objective will be to educate Fijian locals on the importance of catch/release and methods to sustain their fisheries. The King of Kings Fishing Tournament will work closely with local tribes to provide the correct education around sustainability. Most fishing categories will be strictly catch and release, however the more predominant species will be freshly prepared by island chefs and served to competitors daily. Additional captures will be shared with nearby tribes to continue Namotu & Musket Coves good will in the island communities.
